Damn, heres the plugin i have been waiting for! Features include:
- Package explorer view (includes expanded view of .swc files)
- Cairngorm explorer view.
- Code metrics explorer with interesting stats such as the total number of code lines!
- Project wide code formatting.
- One click ASDoc and FlexUnit test creation.
- Plus a number of handy Cairngorm generation tools.
I have just installed now, so have not yet tested thoroughly. The plugin is beta and will expire in 2 months. From what I have seen so far this will be a plugin worth paying for.

UPDATE
I have had a few days to play with this now. Still a great start, but the ASDoc feature doesn’t appear to work with the latest SDK. I am impressed by the responsiveness of the plug-in author though, and as you can see from the comments Luis is promising an update soon.

It’s a good surprise !
It’s really a beta … when generating automatic FlexUnit tests cases, the engine do not imports FlexUnit classes. When doing twice the test cases generation it create test cases for test cases.
I hope they will let it beta a little bit more than two months. and that it will not be too expensive.
Hello, thank you for trying the beta. The beta period will be extended if needed, and there is always going to be a trial period. It will be very affordable.
You need to add flexunit.swc to the classpath prior to generating tests. The “generate FlexUnit test” action will check and give you a warning if it is missing, however the new class wizards and the service wizards may be missing the check. It will be fixed, please report any bugs to the forums or the bug tracker.
Hi Luis,
I’ll go to test it deeply as soon as I can. I will report any problems as suggested.
I have also had no luck with the ASDoc generation, has anyone else? The process appears to run fine, including creating the output folder, but no documentation is generated.
Hello Vinnie, are you running Flex Builder on Mac OS X by any chance? There is a confirmed plugin bug under Mac OS X and there will be an update posted soon. I will be testing the ASDoc generation more extensively since it seems to be problematic for many.
Hey Luis. thanks for responding. No im running Vista Ultimate 64bit.
No problem, did you enter the Flex SDK folder location in the Enterprise IDE preference page? it sounds like it may be set incorrectly. Can you post what SDK location are you using?
set to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flex Builder 3\sdksThat is the problem you have to specify which sdk inside the sdks folder, it should look similar to this:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3 Plug-in\sdks\3.1.0
Notice the 3.1.0, is the specific sdk
doh! ok, have changed to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flex Builder 3\sdks\3.1.0Still no joy though?
The problem seems to be the SDK3.1.0, it had only been tested with 3.0.0 so far. We reproduced the problem successfully, and will post an updated plugin in a day or two. Thank you for your patience.
Nice one Luis. Appreciate your responsiveness, look forward to the update.
Have you tried setting the SDK in the project properties explictly? Try this, show the project properties and click Flex Compiler, select Use a specific SDK, and choose the SDK there. Just a suggestion, not sure it will work (I am still using 3.0.0 for my current client).
Hey Luis. No, figured I would wait for your update.
cheers
